I’d like to share a quick story about how my life has changed and why you should never just settle. I’m going back to 1994 my family decided to open up a restaurant in Wildwood called Fat Daddy’s. We did well and ended up opening another. In 2004, I decided to separate from my family and go out on my own. I opened a spot in
Stone Harbor and dumped everything I had into this place and in five short months, I had to shut it down. At thirty one years old I had lost $105,000 cash, out of my pocket.
Less then 24 hours after closing, my DAD was on me to see what my plan was. Well, I had none but I came up with a plan and fast because with him you had no choice. I went and got my CDL license and started to drive a limo for South Jersey Limo’s. First ride I had changed my life. I drove Jack and Cindy Binder from Ferguson and Dechert Realty in
Avalon. Jack talked me into getting my Real Estate License.
I called my fiancé and my Dad and told them both what my plan was. They both said you can do it. It was not easy, I failed the damn state exam six times but PASSED it on my seventh time. I never quit. Honestly, not even sure what that word is.
I started selling Real Estate for Joe and Stacey Hoey. I sold my first house in fourteen days. In six months, I was the office manager and at the three year mark, I became the broker. Not gonna tell you how many times I failed that test. But I did not quit and passed it. I could not have asked for a better company to work for. Well the market started to change, and the company was making some moves and started to close some offices.
So, I decided to head over to my friends office. Claudio Pawlus invited me to come work with him at Re/Max at the Shore. Now, I was starting over again with a new office and new company.
But what do we do? We suck it up and push harder. Within a few months’ things were back to normal. I had over twenty listings and seven closings. I have closed a minimum of thirty five deals a year since I moved over.
Then in 2013, due to a divorce, I left everything that I built from Real Estate and moved into a house with my brother JOE.
I knew there had to be more to life then the cards I was being dealt. I said no way am I going backwards. I now had two kids and did not want them to ever see me slow down.
Since this bull shit pandemic I have sold nine homes in April and May and have six houses currently under contract. I just bought another rental property for myself. SO, if you ever doubt yourself, all I can tell you is NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER QUIT. Do not accept what’s in front of you, if you want more. PUSH HARD, REAL HARD. In the last twelve months my life has changed again. I lost my DAD, got a new room mate, my MOM, and found the most amazing girl friend, Liane.
If anyone that is reading this ever needs a hand, or just needs someone to talk to, or wants some advice. I am always here for you. HWMF 4 life
